In this digital era of laptops, iPads and smart phones that can access information at the touch of a finger, is the printed product on its way out? In the midst of this onslaught of new media and electronic communications it often times seems that print has been forgotten.

You’ve heard the phrase “everything old is new again,” and that seems to be the expression for print these days. Print has its definitive strengths and appeal. People like to have that tangible feel of getting and looking through a quality piece. In this generation of online addicts, receiving a well-designed printed piece is like receiving a luxury item. It evokes the idea that a company cares enough about a client to send them this special piece.

It seems that as we get more and more inundated with emails, tweets and blogs that print is becoming the fresh marketing tool.  It almost forces the recipient to take a moment, slow down and breathe.  Opening specialty envelopes, the tactile feel of quality paper, turning pages, unfolding – it’s almost like opening a present. But even in this re-birth, print must still be prepared to re-invent itself to be fresh, surprising, dramatic and welcome to cut through all the online noise.

Though we design for both online and print at MMi Creative, print has always been our passion.  We understand that there is a definite need for well-designed, quality printed pieces such as advertising, brochures, catalogs, business cards, direct mail – you name it – to be an effective marketing mainstay for many of our clients.
